Rudolph Isley’s Chicago-area estate, formerly owned by R. Kelly is listed for $3,499,000

After living there, for about a decade, Elaine Isley has recently listed her Olympia Fields home that she once shared with husband - original member of The Isley Brothers, Rudolph (Rudy) Isley. Prior to Rudolph and Elaine moving to Olympia Fields, they called a few other places home, such as New Jersey but ultimately decided to move to the Chicago area to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

The house was owned and built by R&B singer, producer and songwriter R. Kelly back in 1997. According to sources, Kelly stopped making payments on the home - in hopes of getting a loan modification but when that didn’t occur the property went into foreclosure and the property was in foreclosure for several years until it was sold to the Isley’s in 2013 at a discounted price of $587,100.

The Exterior

With the property backed up to the Olympia Fields Country Club - this 3.7 acre property is said to be one of the most exclusive enclaves in Chicago’s South suburbs. When approaching the property, you’ll notice that the property is secured by a stone wall and privacy gate. At one point when R. Kelly owned the property - there was a guardhouse in place of the gate but Kelly eventually tore down the guardhouse due to it not being permitted (community code violations). Since then the Isley’s put their own touches on property to make it their own.

Jungle Themed Indoor Pool Area

There’s no doubt the most unique part of the house is its indoor jungle themed pool area.

The Interior

The property has 21,182 square feet of living space and features 7 bedrooms and 12.5 bathrooms

Indoor Gym

The indoor gym is enclosed with a glass wall and has wooden floors - making it a perfect situation for someone who prefers to workout at home versus going to a public gym.

50’s Theme

Another unique touch that we noticed was a 50’s Retro Dining area, decked out with red booth seating and red appliances. There’s also a movie theatre with the same red theme.

Views

We have to say - the views from this estate are pretty remarkable and the wood aesthetic definitely give it a vacation vibe.
